Plant-Based is a photography book of botanical motifs using the chlorophyll process.
This organic method produces images directly on plant leaves, where chlorophyll reacts to UV light from the sun to form the final composition. With this project, Mucik continues her exploration of botanical photography, a central theme in her artistic practice. Alongside reproductions of the works, the book features motifs on the foils used in the process, offering readers insight into the creative journey. The book is accompanied by a love letter to Mother Nature printed on seed paper, encouraging the reader to preserve the plant world by reusing it. The nature of the artist's photographic project lends itself beautifully to book form, reminiscent of a plant herbarium. It was with an herbarium that her desire to explore the botanical world began in her early childhood.
