Oskar Kogoj is an industrial designer and artist born in 1942 in Miren pri Gorici, where he continues to live and create to this day. After attending the School of Design in Ljubljana, he pursued further studies at the Scuola Grande dei Carmini, a state institute of art in Venice. He has held the status of a self-employed artist since 1971, the same year he received the Prešeren Fund Award for the Gondola family of plastic loungers, designed for Meblo. Kogoj is a passionate explorer of the forgotten knowledge of ancient civilisations, a worshipper of nature, and a seeker of truth. He has participated in more than 400 exhibitions and received more than 70 awards and honours.
