Cloudy – unique glass vessels from double-layered hand-blown glass.
They are available in two colour combinations: black-and-white and clear-and-white. The hand-blowing process enables the layering of two colours, with the upper layer then gradually removed through a time-consuming hand-grinding process, until the bottom layer shines through in uneven layers. The handcrafting process creates a softly textured and uneven surface reminiscent of gathering clouds and ligth filtering through them. The light and soft tactility of each piece will evoke this atmospheric sensation regardless of the location. The presence of these small, unobtrusive, portable objects conveys a sense of softness, closeness and warmth.
Developed between 2018–2020 and still in production today, each Cloudy vessel remains completely unique.
In our increasingly technological future, where we grow ever more disconnected, humans will continue seeking moments of warmth and tranquility – if only for an instant, within their own small nomadic cocoon. From a world where we acknowledge our growing alienation, we need these retreats into intimate shelter.
