Vuvu is a handmade, ceramic soil irrigator that promotes sustainable plant care.
This method involves burying a porous clay pot in the ground, allowing water to gradually seep through its walls, ensuring optimal soil moisture and reducing water consumption.
Vuvu's design was inspired by nature, specifically carnivorous pitcher plants. These plants use their pitcher-shaped leaves to collect rainwater, which they then use to attract and digest insects. Similarly, Vuvu collects water and gradually releases it into the soil to ensure even and efficient plant hydration.
Vuvu is easy to use and suitable for a variety of pot sizes. It is gently inserted into the soil and then filled with water. The porous clay enables gradual release, preventing overwatering and problems like root rot. Once emptied, Vuvu can be easily refilled – and when used outdoors, it may even refill itself with rainwater. In addition to functionality, Vuvu's design also emphasises aesthetics and sustainability. Its organic form harmonises beautifully with a variety of potted plants and interiors. Made from natural, environmentally friendly materials, the product biodegrades over time after decades of use. Vuvu is the result of over a year of development and testing on hundreds of plants, including monsteras and basil, proving its versatility and effectiveness. Using Vuvu not only makes caring for plants easier but also promotes sustainable water management and the preservation of traditional craftsmanship. By combining traditional methods with modern design, Vuvu makes an important contribution to sustainable design and plant care while preserving and enhancing the rich heritage of Slovenian pottery.
