ORNI Wooden Wall Hooks

Inspired by the diversity of animal forms found in nature, this collection of charming and playful creatures draws attention to the importance of natural habitats and the symbolic role animals play in human imagination. ORNI explores the world of birds and their characteristics. The owl symbolises wisdom and the pursuit of knowledge, representing quiet observation of the world and inner calm. The woodpecker embodies intuition, determination, and persistence, a bird that adapts and thrives in even the most challenging environments. The sparrow represents simplicity, sense of home, and affection, and is a common presence in people's everyday lives. The kingfisher symbolises freedom and boldness and is a guardian of clean water habitats and natural balance. The eagle, the undisputed king of the Triglav slopes, represents strength, courage, and noble ideals. Each hook is small, made from a single piece of wood, and produced using a basic 3-axis CNC machine. The product is fully sustainable, made solely from wood and a metal screw. Its compact size and unique form make it an ideal high-quality souvenir from Slovenia. Local sourced wood is used in the production process, but wood scraps from carpentry workshops can also be used, thereby increasing the product's added value. The collection can also be expanded to include other animal groups, such as insects or reptiles, to further emphasise Slovenia's animal diversity

The series won the BIG SEE Wood Design Award in 2021.
